GRAND TETON NP, WY --We stopped at Jenny Lake on our way through the Park last Wednesday, intending to admire the view.
Instead, we spent millions of pixels on a bald eagle high in a dead tree on the lakeshore. He was imperturbable. Cars pulled in and tourists spoke loudly, but he didn't react.
At one point, someone dropped a whole bunch of metal implements, perhaps trail maintenance tools, and the resounding crash only made him turn around and seem to glare in annoyance. But then, eagles always look as if they're glaring.
The light was good, the bird wasn't far away, and that's how I got my best photos of the trip so far.

Hey Lydia -- been trying to leave a comment for a while, but Google is very obstinate.
Been enjoying your tour of the north this summer. Better wait a few weeks before returning to Ormond Beach. It's still 86 -- temp and humidity.
