 ALAMOSA, CO -- We fled Telluride Thursday morning, intimidated by the weather forecast.  Friday evening on the news from Denver we saw snow-pictures from Telluride.
 Friday we drove through flurries in the small town of South Fork.  And we are holed up in a motel here because it is no fun to camp at when the temperature and the wind speed are matching each other at 20.
 Friday, after some shopping in Durango, we headed east, stopping in Pagosa Springs for lunch.  The weather was gorgeous and the hot springs were tempting, until we found out that the entry fee was $24.50.  Each.
 Or, we could have soaked in the springs for free if we'd checked into the hotel, for about $300.  We kept driving.
 Wolf Creek Pass was new territory for us.  We stopped at an overlook with a long view back toward Pagosa Springs.  On the rocks just in front of the overlook, chipmunks frolicked, and I caught two of them smooching.
 The snowy weather should be gone in a few days.  Unfortunately, we will have to be gone by then too, headed east across the plains and finally home.
