| Smooching marmots
ESTES PARK, CO -- Some wildlife photography requires way more patience than I have.
You will not catch me standing around in the snow all day waiting for a wolf to pass by, as one of my young friends often does.
That's why I love marmots. They seem to love being photographed. One of these yellow-bellied marmots posed against the sky atop a pile of volcanic rocks in Rocky Mountain National Park Saturday while I fired away.
When he finally scampered down the rocks and out of sight, I figured he was gone for the day, or at least the hour.
Instead he quickly popped back into view with a friend, and the two of them gave me several more minutes of cuteness.
