Copyright 2006 Lydia Hinshaw WHITEHORSE, YT -- The salmon run in the Yukon River has not yet become a rush hour, but there were about 30 fish in the holding tanks Saturday morning when we arrived.
Later, biologists netted some males and females which they will take to the local hatchery, where test-tube salmon will be created for release at the proper time. There are pictures of the netting process on Prince Charming's blog, link at right.
