ORMOND BEACH, FL -- Christmas 2006 will be memorable for boredom in this household, and Prince Charming and I are grateful for that. After a mid-day drive north into St. Johns County, where this picture was shot, we drove back in the rain, finding minor flooding along the way.
At home, we learned that all of Volusia County, where we live, was under a tornado watch.
An hour later, we heard the first reports of tornado damage to mobile home parks in DeLand, 25 miles west.
We'll definitely settle for a quiet day indoors, listening to the rain on the skylights.
