ST. AUGUSTINE, FL -- We've been wondering whether gas prices would drop below $2 per gallon, and sure enough, it has happened.
We haven't found any local (Daytona Beach area) gas cheaper than $2.02 yet, but 50 miles north, it was going for $1.97 at a couple of stations Sunday
Last May 3, the day we left for California, we filled up for $3.53. During the summer, we paid as much as $4.90 and saw prices as high as $5.29 (though we were careful never to need gas when we passed these places.)
Nowadays, instead of buying gas quickly before it can go up, we're putting off buying gas in the expectation that tomorrow, it will be cheaper.
Wonder how low it will go?
