ORMOND BEACH, FL -- Murphy, the queen of our household, doesn't think too much of humans. As a rule, she wants nothing to do with us. No lap sitting. No cuddling. No sofa sharing.
There is just one exception: Murphy likes to be brushed. Vigorously. With a stiff wire brush. She seems to know that it makes her coat shine!
Sadly, it is not always possible to brush Her Majesty as often as Her Majesty wants to brushed, which is multiple times per day. So we leave her brush where she can get to it, and she has learned to groom herself.
Using one of her extra-large paws, she pins the brush to the table and works on her face and head, hoping we will take the hint and help her with those harder-to-reach spots.
It's so nice to be needed!
