Our temporary home with a viewBIG BEND NATIONAL PARK, TX -- To get to Big Bend you drive and drive and drive.
And you don't mind it because the roads are wide and the scenery is lovely and the traffic is mostly somewhere else.
We drove here from Del Rio Tuesday, hoping we could find a campsite. No worries. This one was waiting for us, at $7 per night with Prince Charming's senior discount.
We'd like to stay three or four nights. We have the time, and we can certainly afford it.
But there's a catch. This is a desert location and the campground has no showers. The nearest public showers are at least 25 miles away. We don't how long we can stand ourselves, and each other, under these conditions.
Also, there is no electricity in the campground to recharge our toys. Which is why I need to end this blog before the little battery on my screen goes red!
