RADIUM HOT SPRINGS, BC -- One upon a time, I spent a lot of time trying to eradicate dandelions from our family's yard in North Carolina. It was a thoroughly frustrating experience.
We should have just adopted a bear.
I've never seen a bear that didn't love the yellow flowers. This one was munching away along BC 93 near here Friday as we began our first Canadian adventure of the summer.
A few miles down the road, we came across a young moose, drinking from a roadside puddle. Another car ahead of us has stopped to shoot her picture and she was showing her indignation. Can't a lady have a drink in peace?
We have finished the three days of training for our jobs, but are not due to start working until July 3, so we have hit the road again to my favorite destination. One of the best things about working in Montana our proximity to the Canadian Rockies. Everything here is more expensive than in the US, but the scenery and the local residents like these pictured above, make it worth every loonie.
We would love it if Canada, or Montana for that matter, could figure out how to stop the rain that keeps stalking us wherever we go.
