Ladies of the road

 SLATER, CO --This always happens to us at least once per summer.

 Many roads in the West pass through open range.  "Loose stock" is how it's phrased on warning signs.  And it's an excellent reason not to drive at night in these parts.

 These two cows were part of a small herd.  Several were off to the left, having already crossed the road.  Several more were to the right, waiting to cross the road.  And these two simply stopped in the road and stared at us for three or four minutes, which gave us plenty of time to take pictures.

 Finally they moved on, their friends to the right followed, and we proceeded on our way.
