| Clouds make for fine sunsets
ANACORTES, WA -- We came here to spend a couple of nights and wound up staying 11, and we were sad to leave.
Each day, we checked the webcams for Glacier National Park, and found heavy smoke obscuring the views. If we wanted to go to Glacier, we were going to have to go there and damn the fires that were ruining the scenery and the air quality.
We decided to leave Friday, detouring south from the most scenic route, because the North Cascades Highway was still closed.
Thursday night, the skies above Anacortes gave us a nice good-bye.
