Guard dog in Taos, NMDURANGO, CO -- Monday we went from sagebrush-covered hills to piney woods, to snow fields to snow-capped peaks, as we drove through Northern New Mexico and into Colorado.
Our first stop of the day was in Taos, a pretty adobe town with lots of galleries and shops. My favorite memory of Taos will be Allie the dog, who was zealously guarding the entrance to an outdoor shop on the plaza.
I wanted to make friends with Allie, but it was clear she preferred to continue her nap.
After two nights in a Santa Fe motel, we are back in camping mode.

Allie looks absolutely SCAWY! So what did you think of Durango? I heard it's adorable. Would you live there? Or just a nice place to visit?
