Perfect for a cold, rainy morning

It could be worse

 PERCÉ, QC -- It was raining when we woke up, but we had deployed our picnic shelter Friday night so we were able to have a dry breakfast.

 There is always a tradeoff, however.  We got wet ourselves taking down the shelter and getting it adequately bagged to prevent the wet from spreading inside the Magic Bus.

 Down the road 36 miles we came to this town and spotted a brightly painted boulangerie, where we stopped for pain chocolat and café au lait.   The quality, and the prices, were right up there with what you would find in France.

 Among our fellow pastry eaters were two young men, British, who are touring the Gaspé Peninsula on their bikes.  At least we were dryer than they are going to be.

 There's a boat trip we want to take here, to an offshore island that is a bird refuge, but the weather conditions would make it difficult to take decent pictures.  So we walked around town for a bit and were about to check into a campground when, after a brief, hopeful spell, the sky darkened and it started to rain again.

 So here we are in a motel, warm and dry and hoping for better weather tomorrow.
