| Our lean-to in the woods |
PLYMOUTH, VT -- Calvin Coolidge was not one of our more memorable presidents, but we're happy with his legacy. We spent the night in Coolidge State Park here, deep in the woods in the Green Mountains.
I had camped here once before, in 1986, in another lifetime and another Magic Bus. The place hasn't changed much. We paid extra for a lean-to campsite, since rain was in the forecast, although thankfully none arrived.
The best thing about the place was that we could not hear traffic, which is very unusual in the camping world these days. We had no close neighbors, as it's early in the season here. And we had a view of another green mountain, off to the left in this picture.
We sat by the fire Monday evening and Tuesday morning and enjoyed the difference between here and urban Poughkeepsie, where we spent the past three days.
Today (Tuesday, June 3) we are working our way toward the coast, in the hunt for lobster.
