...and belowZION NATIONAL PARK, UT -- On our weekend we visited the Kolob Canyons area of Zion, a corner of the park that is about an hour's drive from the more popular and famous Zion Canyon. Kolob Canyons is an exit off I-15 with a five-mile scenic drive with views like the one in the top photo.
We went on a five-mile hike along a creek-bed into a slot canyon. The end of the hike came under this colorful alcove that was far too large to fit into one camera frame. The shade of the overhanging rock felt great after a long walk in the hot sun.
