WILLIAMS, AZ (Oct. 17) -- I've had plans to visit the Grand Canyon at least twice over the years, but both times something came up and I didn't get there until Tuesday.
Like so many of the world's natural wonders, the canyon defies capture by camera or memory. No picture I've ever seen does the place justice. You have to be there, and I'm glad I finally made it.
There wasn't time to do a hike all the way to the bottom of the canyon, so I've added that to my to-do list.
