OLYPMIC NATIONAL PARK, WA -- This was the story of our afternoon at Hurricane Ridge Sunday. To the south were clear blue skies; to the north, thick cottony clouds welled up out of the valley.
To the south we could see the snow-covered mountains of Olympic National Park. To the north, we were supposed to be able to see a maritime panorama including the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Vancouver Island and the San Juan Islands. Well, maybe some other time. Or we could buy a postcard.
Sunshine is hard to come by here on the Olympic Peninsula, so we were happy to see as much as we did.
